WCS Care Group

WCS Care Group has been working with Aurelia for over 10 years now in our 13 sites across Warwickshire. Aurelia began by working within a few of our homes and we were so impressed with the standard of training and ease of organisation that we soon established them as our provider of choice for vocational training across the whole group. 

They are always looking at ways to meet our training objectives and tailor their delivery to achieve this. This has recently led them to gain approval to accredit our in house Dementia Awareness training programme so that our employees receive a recognised qualification in this area.

We are regularly updated with changes in qualifications and funding through meetings with their Business Development Assistant who advises us of the impact it will make and how best to manage our training delivery.

We have always received an excellent service with Aurelia and are looking forward to that continuing over the coming years.

"After some initial doubts I am seeing some rich rewards for engaging with Aurelia and the NVQ programme. Aurelia have worked around the constraints of a busy operational environment, without impacting in any way on service levels. As with any manager embarking on the NVQ training process for the first time, I was concerned that the cost of providing participants .quality time. could outweigh any potential benefits the training would deliver if the training company didn't make the programme flexible and relevant, however this hasn't been the case.

I'm particularly pleased that as part of the Warehousing and Storage NVQ qualification, there is a module on Health and Safety awareness training and this has contributed to a reduction in our Lost Time Accidents in 2008. It has also had an effect on other KPI.s such as absenteeism and productivity. In addition to this having discussed the programme with the people who have been through it, there is a real sense of pride amongst those who have graduated that they have achieved something, as well as feeling that DHL is investing in their development. Not only has their confidence increased and their job performance improved but they are very keen to continue their skills development which Aurelia is very happy to support. After the initial reluctance to sign up for non-mandatory, voluntary training, word of mouth amongst the drivers and associates seems to be "go for it" and we are looking to further develop our relationship with Aurelia in 2009."
