Vicky & Gina's Big Swim

Over the last year Vicky and Gina have been collecting medals for swimming. In the great outdoors at Spot on Wake Lake and in the slightly warmer local pools. They raised money for Aspire, helping people with spinal cord injury live independent lives, by swimming 22 miles in a virtual channel swim. They also successfully swam the distance to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, in an attemptto swim 60 miles before Gina’s 60th birthday. Finally they supported the Shakespeare Hospice in Stratford Upon Avon ...

Aarons Blog

Having finally finished my EPA I am hoping, in this blog, to give an overview of this conclusion and what the next steps are moving onwards.I got 100% in my EPA overall, which is obviously great! But it didn’t come without some final hard work. I was a little confused about what a showcase is. I understood and found the actual content straight forward, but a lot of the EPA showcase is about how you convey the information you have learnt. I had to resubmit after first misinterpreting this princ...

Congratulations

Elaine Wood – Pertemps MeridenFrom starting the course, the trainers at Aurelia have been outstanding .We started off with group face to face which gave us all the chance to work together and learn from each other from our various experiences within the business .Covid then hit which put all this on hold, I personally wanted to carry on with the course and had the support of the trainers to do this. They sent the course work for each module which I completed and emailed back , they reviewed and...

What is an End Point Assessment?

EPA or End Point Assessment is the final stage of an apprenticeship and is officially classed as a showcase of what you have learnt over the course of your apprenticeship. It will involve many different parts, such as a presentation, witness testimonies from peers or customers, as well as a professional discussion. Prior to COVID there would also be observations too, but these are not temporarily used, due to obvious reasons. The first area I will touch on are the witness testimonies. These are ...

Aarons Blog

Everyone has a different interpretation of what is a good and healthy Workplace environment, but in this blog I will be discussing my personal, but also some more legislative factors that make up a safe and welcoming Workplace or office environment. Let us start off with some obvious ones. It is of course always important that every workspace is safe, especially from a health and safety standpoint. In every workplace there should be the correct health and safety regulation in place to ensure tha...

So Vicky and Gina from our Management team are attempting to swim the English Channel!!Well they will attempt to swim the same distance but in a swimming pool and over 12 weeks. :) They will be raising money for the charity Aspire - https://www.aspire.org.uk/Every four hours someone in the UK is paralysed by a spinal cord injury. It can happen to anyone at any time and no one is prepared for how it will change their life. Aspire is a national charity that provides practical help, ...

Aurelias Summer Social

Every year during the summer we meet up as a team and have a fun day including activities, food and lots of laughs! This year we had to think about how we could do that safely, minimising our contact with others and abiding by all the Covid guidance. So we met up at a Rugby Club (that was closed to the public) , took a picnic and had a Pub Quiz! It was a closely fought contest involving high stakes (mainly bragging rights) between the Management team and the Staff Team, and while there were some...

Aarons Blog Part 3

This blog I will be talking to you about my apprenticeship course that I have done with Aurelia so far. I will specifically be focused on the coursework itself and how I have tackled it. The work that I do is all based around customer service, it helps provide me with an understanding of the intricacies and key values of what it means to work in customer service. A prime example of one of my pieces of coursework would be a series of questions varying in lengths about a specific section of custom...

Aarons Blog Part 2

This blog is going to be about the difference between a normal day of work in the office, and a day during the current COVID Pandemic. The first obvious difference is the lack of people in. Due to obvious reasons, there can only be a limited amount of people in, to stick to regulations and social distancing at all times. In terms of social distance this affects all sorts of aspects, anything from not being able to make drinks for each other, to not being in each other’s workspace when needing ...
